A Structured Pathway Out of Homelessness A Structured Pathway Out of Homelessness A Structured Pathway Out of Homelessness

OMVI is a structured community helping people experiencing homelessness move toward stability, accountability and housing.

OKANAGAN MOBILE VILLAGE INITIATIVE (OMVI)

OMVI is a structured, transitional support model designed to address homelessness through stability, accountability, and a clear path toward independence.

What OMVI Is — And What It Is Not

OMVI is not a low-income housing project.

It is a structured, transitional community addressing homelessness through stability, accountability, and a clear path toward independence.

It supports individuals experiencing homelessness, including those facing substance use challenges.

The Gap Between Crisis and Stability

Homelessness in the Okanagan continues to grow, while most services focus on short-term relief.

Shelters provide immediate support, but there are few structured pathways toward long-term stability.

Many individuals face additional challenges, including substance use, making progress difficult without structure and support.

A Structured Solution

OMVI introduces a mobile village model designed to provide safe, structured living environments.

Residents are supported through accountability, stability, and clear expectations.

This is not permanent housing — it is a step toward independence and long-term housing solutions.

Why OMVI Works

OMVI is built on structure, accountability, and forward movement — not temporary relief.

  • Focuses on long-term outcomes, not short-term shelter
  • Integrates support for addiction and recovery
  • Establishes clear expectations and personal responsibility
  • • Designed to be scalable, mobile, and adaptable to real-world conditions
